ASSETS OF A TRUE BELIEVER.

It's such a privilege to be called Sons of God. How fulfilling it is knowing that we are saved.
The depth of the benefits of salvation is evident in the great celebration in heaven over a repentant sinner, this shows how God goes all out for us. Luke 15 : 7-10

Being saved is great but as a believer, there are certain assets we can't live without.
Think about it, the value of properties, shares, and other investments in everyday parlance.
As a believer, there are three key assets we must arm ourselves with;

THE WORD OF GOD/A GREAT RELATIONSHIP WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT.

Having a great relationship with the Holy Spirit is developed through prayer and intensive Bible study.
God will reveal Himself to us when we draw near to Him more so, He also gives us a discerning spirit which makes us able to know his heart, his will for us, and what he wants us to do per time.

A great relationship with the Holy Spirit will influence our choices in all spheres of our lives which in the long run results in purposeful and progressive living.
When we dwell  on the word of God , never ceasing in prayers we become very intentional with our relationship with the Holy Spirit which benefits us greatly in the long run.

Note the emphasis in Jude 1 : 20  ”But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.”

EXPOSURE TO CHRISTIAN BOOKS/LITERATURE
Faith cometh by constant hearing of the word of God. We get the guts to resist temptation by the grace of God and also by the knowledge of the implication of our choices.
Filling yourself with substance from the word of God, Christian Literature has a great effect in refining our lifestyle and eventually birthing heaven worthy patterns.

In as much as it refines our lives, it helps us grow too, no one desires stagnation. As  humans , physical growth implies we must feed our flesh and in order to experience spiritual growth, we must feed our spirit man through consistent Bible study.

Peter made it very clear in 1Peter2:2 which says, ”Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation”

THE RIGHT ASSOCIATION.
We can achieve all we plan and envision but one wrong association can mar years of deliberate growth in faith or any sphere of life.
Evil communication corrupts good manners. We can never be truly careful in dealing with the wrong people.
1Corinthians 15:33 says emphasizes“Bad company ruins good morals." We can't be completely careful to avoid I'll habits from people we are constantly in touch with therefore we must guard our associations as this goes a long way in determining what we become and how we spend eternity when Christ comes.

We pray that God will engrace us to intentionally protect our circles as we make deliberate effort this year to serve him in spirit and truth.

Have a great year ahead.
